It’s true. So far in February 2013 here in Portland we’ve barely topped .25″ of rain.
Today alone we’re looking at .40″ to .75″ in the Willamette Valley. So it’s going to seem wet, for sure!
The moderate to heavy rain moves out by late afternoon leaving us in shower and sun breaks mode. The real focus after that is in the Cascades where heavy snow and gusty winds will create blizzard conditions at times. Wind is lighter on Saturday but you’ll definitely want goggles and you’ll want to check road conditions before heading up.
Isn’t is weird how everyone is so ‘excited’ about this February storm? Shows you how slow the weather has been this winter!
Bruce- we’ve had a little more than an inch here up til today (which is dry for Vancouver,BC) but I think we’ll at least double that total today. Oh well, the skiers will be happy!
Roland–
You have Portland rainfall beat. We are now at .82″ when we should be at 2.88.” But there’s still tons of snow on the mountain. So our ski and snowboarders are in a great mood–just like yours!
Have a good weekend.
Bruce raining hard a while ago out in Hillsboro. Letting up a bit. We always watch the coast range. Thanks for always being 100% accurate. Our lab Daisie Mae is drying off from playing out side.
Tina,
It was a sideways rain for a while, no doubt about it. Wish I could claim the 100% record was true, ha-ha! Have a great weekend.
Great job of giving us our weather tonight. Snowing hard at our house in Eastern Oregon, but so beautiful and peaceful.
Sherry–thanks for the updated report and your nice comment. I hope you enjoy your winter wonderland!
