Thanks for stopping by my new Bruce Sussman weather blog, I appreciate it! I love sharing the story of the day’s weather, and sometimes I just don’t have enough time (or space!) on the news, Facebook or Twitter. And so it’s time to start my own weather blog. A place where I can share the latest Portland weather happenings, national weather, weather research and technology, and some fun weather related stuff too!
When I was a kid I would race home on stormy days to see the news and find out what had happened. Any mudslides? Maybe some flooding? And what caused our big storm? I guess you can say I’ve always been fascinated by weather. Every night on Koin Local 6, I try to share that fascination by telling the story of the day’s weather and the story of what will happen tomorrow. But sometimes there are parts of a story I just have to highlight, when I’d like to say more. Or sometimes funny things are going on behind the scenes that I’d love to share. And weather research is always breaking new ground.
So, what I plan to do here is discuss weather (and related topics) in plain English, have fun talking about all this stuff, and post important things that you may have missed on the news, like my Portland Winter 2010-2011 forecast video, which is on this blog. And, I’ll throw in a smattering of super cool weather images and their explanations. I love doing that. They could be from outer space or just the outer metro area.
So please, if you don’t mind, tell others about my blog. And I’ll alert you to new posts by Facebook or Twitter, or you can sign up for the RSS blog feed. Otherwise, bookmark it and stop on by whenever you can!
Thanks again,
Bruce

Thanks for this site. I’ve bookmarked and will check back daily. The weather on the central coast of Oregon is what drew us to retire here, so we love learning and understanding about what all is going on around us. Stay dry this weekend!

Love your writings and your weather! I think Chandler is where our friends from Naselle stay in the winter…She keeps writing AWFUL posts about how great this is, and how wonderful that is. She’s really mean. I’m heading back to Texas to see our daughter next month…she tired of the weather here and up and moved! Can you believe it!?
