I actually saw people wearing shorts on Sunday November 4, 2012.
And for once…it was a good call to wear them!
The warm and humid air streaming in from the southwest boosted highs in the metro area into the upper 60s even with just occasional sun breaks.
But where the sun really came out–it seemed like a ‘November heat-wave’ had come to town. Look at these highs!
And now it’s almost time to play my favorite weather game here in the northwest. That’s right: weather whiplash.
An unusually cold blast of air for this time of year comes in from the northwest late in the week. Highs will be in the 40s. That’s a 20-25 degree drop from what we experienced over the weekend.
The snow levels may crash down to 2,000′ at times–so mountain snow is likely. Although at this point, there’s not a ton of moisture to work with.
Hope you enjoyed your balmy weekend…

We were indeed too far north to get the sunshine yesterday, but at least it was mild (58F) under rainy skies. This morning, however, the sun is shining (with some fog around) and I’m looking forward to that cool dry air later this week!
