I love Sussman family road trips!
And what could be more fun than combining them with some awesome cloud formations? (Weather geek alert!)
This shot shows a bubbling thunderstorm that was headed to northeastern Oregon on Wednesday July 18, 2012.
We also saw thunderstorms trying to fire over the Oregon Cascades.
This shot is a thunderstorm that’s collapsing at the end of its life cycle. Upper level winds pushed this cloud’s top way off to the side. I had to use my Pano app on the iPhone to get the cloud in a single shot!
This is my favorite shot of the day, though, and I didn’t even take it! My buddy Al snapped this shot on a flight into PDX. It’s another t-storm also blown nearly horizontal by winds higher in the sky.
I’m left wondering if this is the same one I was seeing in the awesome central Oregon skies…
